House M.D. is a TV show which aired its pilot in September 2004 on Fox. Now into its fifth series, the TV show has won numerous and has been nominated for countless awards (including Golden Globes, NAACP and Emmys). In total, this TV show has been nominated for over 70 awards and won 25.

The TV show is about a team of diagnosticians, led by Dr. Gregory House (Hugh Laurie), who solve odd and peculiar medical cases. In season five, Dr. House hires Chris Taub, Lawrence Kutner, and "Thirteen” as part of his team. As the antisocial maverick doctor, Dr. House is a maverick physician who has earnt a great deal with respect due to his unconventional thinking and flawless instincts. Based in Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital in New Jersey, each episode leads with attempts to diagnose and treat each patient. Although the medical illnesses are rare, they are realistic. Dr. House, who often disregards or challenges the opinions of his team, often experiences epiphanies which reveal the cure for the patient's illness.

Each episode shares a plethora of unexpected symptoms, bewildering complications and often crosses the boundaries of medical ethics. In many episodes, the diagnosticians enter the patient's house with or without their permission in order to search for clues that might suggest a certain pathology. House's theories about a patient's illness tend to be based on instinct and insight and he often has trouble obtaining permission from his boss, hospital administrator Dr. Lisa Cuddy. Nonetheless, despite high degrees of risk and ethically dubious decisions, his theories are often proved correct.
